Bill Bailey to present Name That Tune

Bill Bailey is to present resurrected game show ‘Name That Tune’.

The 50-year-old comedian has already filmed a pilot of the iconic show and bosses at ITV hope that will be enough to secure a full series, The Sun newspaper reports.

The comedian-and-actor has starred in a number of popular game shows throughout his career, including ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’, ‘Have I Got News for You’ and ‘Q.I.’.

‘Name That Tune’ first appeared on screens between 1976 to 1988.

The programme was briefly resurrected in 1997 by Channel 5 – when it was presented by Jools Holland – but only lasted a year.

The decision to bring it back follows a trend that has seen a number of classic quiz shows brought back to life.

Among the most popular of these are ‘Catchphrase’, presented by Steven Mulhern, and ‘Through the Keyhole’, which is fronted by Keith Lemon.

What’s more, next month will see the launch of ‘Celebrity Squares’, which is to be presented by Warwick Davis, star of ‘Life’s Too Short’.

Meanwhile, ‘TV Burp’ star Harry Hill is reportedly a frontrunner to host a resurrected ‘Stars in Their Eyes’ for ITV.
