Bhavna Limbachia has teamed up with Kelsey Grammer on a new project.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress admitted it has been an "absolute joy" working alongside the ‘Frasier’ actor, and she feels pleased to have returned to work amid the coronavirus pandemic.
She wrote on Twitter: "An absolute joy working with @KelseyGrammer So grateful to have been working during these uncertain times (sic)"
Bhavna – who portrayed Rana Habeeb on the cobbles from 2016 to 2019 – also admitted she hopes the theatre industry will begin to "get back on [its] feet".
She added: "The film & TV industry are slowly getting back on their feet, lets hope the same will follow for Theatre (sic)"
The 36-year-old star’s role opposite Kelsey in the unknown project also made one of her former ‘Corrie’ stars "so jealous".
Sally Carman – who plays Abi Franklin on the ITV soap – tweeted: "Oh my goodness!!!! I’M SO JEALOUS!!!! Good for you Bhav (sic)"
In June 2019, Bhavna admitted she would love to have a "versatile career" like Charlize Theron, after Weatherfield resident Rana was killed off earlier that year when the Underworld factory roof collapsed.
She said: "I would like to have a versatile career like Charlize Theron. I’d love to do a bit of comedy, a bit of drama, some action, I’d love to do a bit of everything and push myself."
Before turning to acting, the ‘Citizen Khan’ star was a costume designer and had to hold an umbrella for ‘Corrie’ star Connor McIntyre (Pat Phelan) – but after one particularly freezing cold moment in the early hours, she decided it was not the career for her.
She added: "The last costume job I did was ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ with Connor McIntyre for BBC Three.
"It was minus three degrees. I was holding Connor’s umbrella thinking, ‘I can’t do this anymore. I can’t regret something I didn’t do – it just doesn’t make sense.’ "
