BGT finalist Shaheen Jafargholi joins EastEnders

Former ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ finalist Shaheen Jafargholi is set to join ‘EastEnders’ later this month.
The 19-year-old singing sensation – who won over hearts when he made the final of the talent show in 2007 – is to shake things up on the Square over the next coming months after landing the role of Shakil Kazemi in the BBC One soap.
Speaking about the role, Shaheen said: "I’m so excited to be joining the show. I’ve been a fan since I was a little kid so to now be a part of something so iconic is an honour."
Shakil, 15, rocks up in Walford to persuade his mother Carmel Kazemi (Bonnie Langford) to patch things up with his father Umar Kazemi, but things don’t go according to plan as his dad has already moved on with another woman.
Shaheen added: "I’m also really excited to be working with a legend such as Bonnie Langford. I’m having so much fun playing her son and can’t wait for people to finally meet him."
The youngster makes the drastic decision to move to Albert Square to be with his mum and brother Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) – and ends up finding his own bit of love.
Meanwhile, Shaheen’s career has been going from strength-to-strength since his debut on ‘BGT’ nine years ago as he’s also made appearances on ‘Casualty’ and ‘Torchwood’.
He also performed at a Michael Jackson memorial concert in Los Angeles following the King of Pop’s death in 2009.
