Beyonce and Solange Knowles to battle at Urban Music Awards

Beyonce and Solange Knowles will go head-to-head at the 14th annual Urban Music Awards.
Both sisters have scored a number one album in the same year, with the R&B superstar’s LP ‘Lemonade’ and Solange’s ‘Seats on the Table’ topping the charts.
The pair will battle it out to be crowned Best International Act along with Chance the Rapper, French Montanna, Drake, Party next Door, Tory Lanez, DJ Khaled and Kanye West.
Meanwhile, Solange’s album is also up for Best Album along with Laura Mvula’s ‘The Dreaming Room’, Giggs’ ‘Landlord’, Kano’s ‘Made in the Manor’, Michael Kiwanuka’s ‘Love & Hate’, Skepta’s ‘Knonnichiwa’ and Craig David’s ‘Following My Intuition’.
‘One More Time’ hitmaker Craig has landed himself an additional four nods for Best Single (for ‘When the Bassline Drops’ ft. Big Narstie),Best Male Act, Best Pop Act and Best R&B Act.
Meanwhile, Mark Morrison, Soul 2 Soul, Goldie, Ms. Dynamite, Brand New Heavies, Sister Sledge and
Oma are up for the UMA Living Legend Award.
President/Founder of the Urban Music Awards and UMA Academy worldwide, Jordan Kensington commented: "The talent especially here in the UK has been incredible this year. When you look at the trend worldwide, urban music has well and truly become the new popular music with hundreds of artists becoming households names domestically and across other territories and this trend is only set to become much more prominent in the future. We are very proud with the work the UMA Academy has done and continues to do to open the doors globally for talented artists, producers and songwriters worldwide."
The UMAS will be broadcast live on the digital platform VooVix on November 26 at 6.30pm (GMT).
