Ben Cohen is officially divorced.
The retired rugby star’s marriage to wife Abby Blayney, with whom he has eight-year-old twins Harriette and Isabelle, has legally been dissolved following their split in late 2014.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Abby – who has dropped her marital name – said: "I’m Ben Cohen’s ex-wife."
The couple, who got married in 2003, split two years ago after Ben developed a soft spot for his ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ partner Kristina Rihanoff, with whom he’s now expecting a baby, while competing on the show in 2013.
Abbey said: "If it wasn’t for that woman, me and Ben would still be married. But so what? I’m moving on. I don’t want to talk about being the ditched wife. Ben is getting on with his life and I wish him well with his new family."
But Abby was left heartbroken earlier this year when Kristina, who has been dating the sportsman for around 18 months, announced she was three months pregnant with Ben’s baby.
Abby said at the time: "The last two years have been the most traumatic thing to ever happen to me. He’s done the dirty on me. I want people to know.
"I don’t want to cause stress or further damage by stirring things up. But I’m just trying to recover from what has been the most horrific time of my life."
Despite claims Ben, 37, and the 38-year-old dancer were having an affair, the couple have always insisted they only struck up a relationship once the hunk had split from Abby.
