Bee Gees’ Barry Gibb to perform with Coldplay at Glastonbury

Coldplay will be joined by the Bee Gees’ Barry Gibb on stage for its closing set at Glastonbury in June.
The ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’ hitmakers have asked the 69-year-old singer-songwriter – the only surviving member of the Seventies band – to join them on the Pyramid stage for the world famous music extravaganza at Worthy Farm in Somerset, South West England, on June 26.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Chris [Martin] was delighted to be asked to headline again but told [festival boss] Michael [Eavis] he wanted to bring some friends along, too. Barry had already been asked to perform but didn’t have time to perfect a full set with his touring band. As soon as Chris got wind he asked Barry if he wanted to come on stage with Coldplay. He agreed straight away.
"The band are putting a Bee Gees medley together cramming in all of their classics. It’s going to be really special. There are likely to be a few other surprise guests on the night too, which are still to be decided."
Coldplay will become the first act to headline the popular festival four times – having previously done it in 2002, 2005 and 2011 – once they’ve taken to the stage this year.
The rockers – consisting of Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion – will join other confirmed headliners Adele and Muse for the music weekend.
