Bear Grylls saved by medics after bee sting KO

Bear Grylls had to be saved by medics after he was knocked out by a bee sting.
The survival expert – who has an allergy to bee stings – was struck by one of the insects while shooting his new show ‘Treasure Island’, but docs were on hand quickly to save him from a potentially life-threatening situation.
Mano Shanmug-anathan, one of the islanders on Bear’s new show, told the Daily Star newspaper: "I think that Bear is an impressive guy. He understands his tasks at hand and knows what he has to achieve.
"The irony of Bear the survivalist being stung, having the potential of an allergic reaction, and needing to be treated with an EpiPen, was a bizarre moment. That was crazy."
Medics rushed to Bear’s aid with an EpiPen – which counteracts the venom – after he was stung on the first day of filming the Channel 4 series.
In 2016, Bear suffered an allergic reaction to bees when he smoked out a hive to steal honey in Mexican state Baja California, which caused his eyes to swell up.
The 45-year-old former SAS serviceman was shooting his ‘Born Survivor’ TV show at the time.
Bear’s new ‘Treasure Island’ series will begin next month, and as well as trying to stay alive, contestants will search for £100,000 dropped on the land mass by show bosses.
Whoever discovers the cash can keep it for themselves or share it with others.
Bear recently said: "This radical new twist on the island experience will test whether human nature really is ruled by the quest for financial gain, or whether co-operation and altruism in the face of adversity can bring their own reward."
