Ayda Field’s mother only wants to date toy boys.
The 37-year-old actress says her 67-year-old mum Gwen Field – who was widowed when Ayda’s dad died – just isn’t interested in men her own age and seeks out younger hunks to go out with.
Speaking on UK TV show ‘Loose Women’, Ayda said: "Mom says, ‘Well honey, by the time you get to my age all the men are old’. And she goes, ‘I don’t wanna be with an old guy.’ She got her groove still."
Ayda, who is married to 42-year-old pop star Robbie Williams, insists she isn’t embarrassed by her mother’s predilection for younger men, and that she thinks for the most part Gwen is just searching for companionship.
She said: "I think she wants companionship – I don’t think she wants a boyfriend – I think she wants several companions to have adventures with and go to dinner with"
"I’m not really embarrassed by that I think it’s because my mom wasn’t embarrassed. I have a real open relationship with my mom, so there’s nothing shameful or weird in what she’s doing I’m really proud of her it’s hard to be a single lady."
However, Ayda does worry about Gwen’s safety when she’s dating, and she finds herself giving her mother a pep talk before she heads out.
She explained: "I talk safety with her. I’m like ‘we got to talk about the birds and the bees’ because a woman that’s been married most her life doesn’t even think of these things. There’s a re-education. But my mum is very safe, very, you know, modern. I’m really proud of her she’s an inspiration."
