Ashley Roberts has signed up for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 36-year-old singer is expected to be one of the favourites – alongside the likes of Steps star Faye Tozer – to win this year’s Glitterball Trophy due to her existing dance talents alongside Nicole Scherzinger and Kimberly Wyatt with girl band The Pussycat Dolls.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Ashley is already a hot favourite because of her dance experience with the Dolls as well as having trained as a dancer.
"Although she might not have done much ballroom or Latin, being able to pick up choreography quickly as well as her rhythm is sure to give her an edge."
The ‘Don’t Cha’ hitmaker studied modern dance in California and has also featured as a backing dancer in numerous music videos, including Pink’s ‘Trouble’ and Counting Crows’ ‘Accidentally In Love’.
The ‘When I Grow Up’ star’s stock rose in the UK after she appeared on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ in 2012, and she featured as a judge on ‘Dancing On Ice’.
Ashley and Faye look set to face off against the likes of former ‘Coronation Street’ actress Catherine Tyldesley and Capital FM DJ Vick Hope on ‘Strictly’.
However, BBC bosses are said to be struggling to attract top talent to the show this year.
A source recently said: "’Strictly’ has always been a massive draw in the past, but it hasn’t been as easy this year. They’ve asked loads of top names, but with people like Louise Redknapp and Ben Cohen in mind, many in relationships are saying no.
"Bosses are obviously hoping to bring in some bigger names, but they need everyone signed by the end of this month."
