Ashley Roberts and Faye Tozer top of Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard

Ashley Roberts and Faye Tozer found themselves joint top of the leaderboard as the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ semi-final took place on Saturday night (08.12.18).
The Pussycat Dolls star and her professional partner Pasha Kovalev managed an impressive set of scores – 36 and 40 – giving them a total of 76 out of a possible 80. And it was matched by Steps star Faye and her dance partner Giovanni Pernice, who managed 37 and 39 respectively.
Ashley’s first routine was a Paso Doble to ‘Spectrum (Say My Name)’ by Florence and The Machine, with head judge Shirley Ballas saying Ashley did a "good job" but she asked for more "passion and drama" if she was to dance it again whilst Bruno Tonioli praised her fierce and fearless performance. For Faye’s first dance, they tackled the Samba to ‘I Go To Rio’. Darcey Bussell said it was a masterclass in technique and praised them for taking on a really difficult routine, whilst Craig Revel Horwood thought they could have added more hip action into the performance.
And for the second performance, Ashley scored a perfect 40 with an American Smooth to ‘Ain’t That a Kick In The Head’ by Dean Martin. Shirley loved the stunning performance whilst Craig was left speechless.
Elsewhere, Stacey Dooley impressed with a "100 per cent authentic 1920s flapper-style Charleston" to ‘Five Foot Two Eyes Of Blue’ and a contrasting Viennese Waltz to ‘You’re My World’, leaving her in third place with a total score of 75.
Lauren Steadman found herself at the bottom of the leaderboard, with a total score of 54 with a Tango, which earned her 31 points and she scored 23 for her Samba.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns on Sunday night (09.12.18).
