Ashley Jensen wants an Ugly Betty movie

Ashley Jensen would love to make an ‘Ugly Betty’ movie.
The 48-year-old actress starred as Scottish seamstress Christina McKinney in the hit ABC TV series, and although the show ended in 2010, Jensen would never say no to returning as the fan favourite character.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Tuesday (14.11.17), she said: "I think the last time I was here I was talking about it. I would love to do an ‘Ugly Betty’ movie, I think we all would. Just last year we had a reunion and we all just got so excited about seeing each other again. It was one these programmes that touched a lot of people and think that a lot of people feel a great deal of warmth to it. So I think it could be very excited to do it."
‘Ugly Betty’ ran for four seasons and was developed by Silvio Horta.
It follows the titular character Betty Suarez (America Ferrara) who, despite her lack of style, manages to land a job at the prestigious fashion magazine Mode.
During the four season run, viewers saw Betty compete against creative designer Wilhelmina Slater (Vanessa Williams) to show that true beauty is inside.
The programme was cancelled in 2010 after struggling in the ratings in the US between the third and fourth seasons.
Jensen isn’t the only star of the show to be pushing for a reunion movie, with the leading lady Ferrara admitting she wanted the movie.
During the cast reunion at the ATX Television Festival last year, Ferrara said: "I mean, it took 20 minutes for everyone to say yes to my email to be at ATX. I think they’re going to be at the reunion movie."
