Arlene Phillips snubbed by Strictly Come Dancing?

Arlene Phillips hasn’t been approached for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 73-year-old choreographer – who sat on the panel for four years before she was replaced by Alesha Dixon – has made no secret of the fact she’d like to return to the ballroom and latin programme next year now that Len Goodman’s Head Judge position is up for grabs, but she has admitted no one from the BBC has reached out to her yet.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, she said: "The BBC will make their decision and whatever they decide, I’m sure it’s going to be great. Other than doing other various different things with the BBC, I haven’t actually spoken with the BBC. Obviously I’m in touch with the professionals but beyond yet, no nothing has been said."
And, although she’d jump at the chance to join the judging panel next year, Arlene is open to the idea of starting her own rival show on another channel as she’s the mastermind behind hits ‘Britannia High’, ‘DanceX’ and ‘Strictly Dance Fever’.
She explained: "I’ d love to do a dance show but it’s not something I think about all the time because I’m busy with lots of different things. I love being involved in television and chatting if I do ‘Lorraine’ or ‘Loose Women’ but it’s not my life blood. I don’t need it."
However, there is a chance Arlene may be chosen to join the judging panel for ‘Dance Dance Dance’ as bosses are currently on the hunt for two new professionals.
Asked if she would join the panel alongside Ashley Banjo, she said: "I haven’t been asked and I haven’t really thought about it. I certainly look forward to watching it. I love Ashley, he’s fabulous and really talented. He’ll be great. I love his mum."
