Antony Cotton teases ‘secret’ series after filming with his parents

Antony Cotton has filmed a "secret" series with his parents.

The ‘Coronation Street’ actor – who has played Sean Tully on the cobbles since 2003 – has been working on something special, which is set to air "later this year".

On Thursday evening (17.09.20), he tweeted: "Just got home from filming a new series of something secret. It was very funny. And I did it with both my parents.

"It was the first time they’ve been anywhere other than the supermarket. And the first time I’ve sat in the same room, indoors, as them!

"It’ll be on later this year. (sic)"

Antony’s mum Enid Dunn – who is an actress herself – replied to his post, but she wasn’t giving anything away.

She added: "We had a great day Antony. The whole experience was magical."

The 45-year-old actor is still going strong on the cobbles, and he recently admitted he has "never phoned in sick".

He said: "I’ve never even thought, ‘I’m going to have to’. I have schlepped my a** into work, I’ve crawled on my hands and knees.

"I’ve said, ‘I’m really not well, I need you to do it right now’. But I’ll film the scene and then I’ll go home.

"I’ve never phoned in sick in 17 years and that comes from Oldham Theatre Workshop. The reason I’ve never rang in sick in 17 years is because I don’t want anybody else to play my part.

"They might just say, ‘Take another day off Antony, take another day off because we’ve got somebody in to do it.’ "

‘Corrie’ production was disrupted last week after an actor – who is unnamed – tested positive for Covid-19.

An ITV spokesperson said at the time: "We can confirm a member of the ‘Coronation Street’ team has tested positive for coronavirus.

"The protocols we have in place for such an eventuality have been implemented and the individual is now self-isolating at home."
