Anthony Quinlan has split from his girlfriend.
The ‘Emmerdale’ star began dating ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Dianne Buswell late last year after they were introduced through their mutual friend Gemma Atkinson, but their relationship didn’t last long as they reportedly decided to go their separate ways just before Valentine’s Day on Wednesday (14.02.18).
A source told The Sun newspaper: "They were loved up for weeks but things fizzed out once they both went back to work after Christmas.
"Anthony returned to filming and is based in Manchester while Dianne also has a busy schedule and lives in London, they started seeing a lot less of each other.
"They’re still close friends and didn’t end on bad terms but they struggled to see their relationship working, especially when Dianne goes back home to Australia."
But their split didn’t come as too much of a surprise to the 33-year-old actor as he recently admitted that his love life is as disastrous as that of his character Pete Barton.
He said last year: "People say I’m quite like Pete in many ways but luckily things are quieter for me personally. I’m single at the moment but that’s OK, I’m all right with that."
However, that hasn’t put the former ‘Hollyoaks’ hunk – who previously dated Michelle Keegan – from searching for his soul mate – but he’s happy on his own for now.
He said: "Of course I’d love to meet the right person and eventually I’d like to get married and start a family but there’s no rush.
"I’m so busy at the moment it would be hard to find time to meet someone. The days we do on ‘Emmerdale’ can be really long, but I never say never.
"I’ve realised I’m not that great at compromising so I need someone who’s all right with that but I’m happy as I am for now."
