Anthea Turner rejected I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! offer

Anthea Turner has been asked to take part in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ – but she’s rejected the offer.
The 56-year-old television presenter has been approached by bosses of the creepy-crawly show in the past but she’s snubbed the chance because she doesn’t want to spend countless hours a day sitting around in a "boring" camp.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, she said: "I don’t think I’d do ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ because I feel there’s a lot of sitting around and I’d get bored.
"I’m not really scared of heights, jumping out of planes, scared of bugs or rodents, I’m not entirely sure I’d go on much of an emotional journey. I don’t think I’d be good television. I have been asked to do before but I turned it down."
And Anthea has no interest in being a guest on the spin-off show ‘Extra Camp’, which was previously known as ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! NOW!’, because she feels only people who have lived jungle life should be allowed on it.
She said: "I’m a big believer in that you should only go on it if you’ve experienced it before, so no I wouldn’t do that."
The blonde beauty is no stranger to reality TV shows as she previously took part in ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, ‘Dancing on Ice’ and ‘The Jump’ and, although she’d love nothing more than to join the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ line up, she doesn’t think she’d be allowed to do anymore programmes.
She explained: "I would like to do ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ but I’ve done ‘Dancing on Ice’ and I don’t think they let you do both because they’re too similar."
Anthea is supporting Stand Up To Cancer, a joint national fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4 to accelerate new cancer treatments to patients and save more lives. To get involved this October and help beat cancer sooner, visit standuptocancer.org.uk.
