Ant McPartlin will reportedly return to work on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ next month.
The 43-year-old TV presenter will be back alongside his presenting partner Dec Donnelly to film auditions for the ITV talent show after taking time off from work commitments following a drink-driving conviction earlier this year and a stint in rehab.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Ant has completed his recovery and ITV has decided he is ready to be back at work for Britain’s Got Talent filming, which starts next month.
"It’s been an incredible difficult two-year period but he has been entirely focused on turning his life around in order to return to work.
"ITV is very excited about Ant and Dec being reunited – but Ant’s recovery has been everyone’s first priority."
While next year’s series of ‘Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’ – will be off air until 2019, Ant is still expected to return to ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ after Holly Willoughby stepped in for him for the recent run.
Dec previously admitted while he was "incredibly excited" to head to the jungle for the show – which was won by Harry Redknapp on Sunday night (09.12.18) – but he didn’t want to be paired up "with another guy".
He said: "As always I’m incredibly excited to be heading to Oz for ‘I’m A Celebrity’.
"It is obviously tinged with sadness that Ant won’t be coming this year, I’m going to really miss him, but it’s only for one series and he’ll be back stronger next year.
"I didn’t want to host this series with another guy so Holly was top of my list."
It was also revealed Ant helped choose Holly as his replacement on ‘I’m A Celebrity’.
She said: "We’ve spoken and he’s happy – he was part of the decision that I’d do it. He just needs to look after himself, that’s the most important thing. He knows I’ll look after the show and keep it warm for him …
"On ‘I’m A Celebrity’ it’s important to have chemistry and to have a friendship as a starting point you can grow from.
"It’s that unspoken thing: you know how the other person speaks, how their sentences are going to end. That helps a lot. It’s definitely bittersweet. ‘I’m A Celebrity..’ is a huge show but nobody wanted to have to be asked to do it. It’s not nice for anyone."
