Anna Richardson’s uncle dies after coronavirus battle

Anna Richardson’s uncle has died after battling coronavirus.
The ‘Naked Attraction’ presenter revealed the sad news on Twitter, saying her "heart hurts" from the loss of her "lovely" relative.
Anna wrote: "It hurts my heart to say my lovely Uncle Geoff has lost his fight against Covid-19. The family are raising money for the NHS staff who tried so hard to save him in ICU.
"Please… if you have a spare £… donate. We’re all in this together. (sic)
The 49-year-old presenter also shared a link to a page raising funds for the East Kent Hospitals’ Charity Appeal.
Geoff was admitted to hospital on April 6th after feeling unwell for a few days.
He then developed pneumonia as a result of coronavirus and passed away on April 13th.
The fundraising page launched by his family praised the NHS staff who had cared for him.
They wrote: "The paramedics, doctors and nurses that cared for him under these extremely difficult circumstances were absolutely amazing and we can’t thank them enough for all they did.
"Donations will support the physical and emotional wellbeing of staff through this difficult time and provide vital additional equipment and much more."
Anna received a number of condolences from her fans on social media.
One Twitter user wrote: "Sorry to hear that Anna. When it’s a loved one it becomes so much more real."
Another said: "So very sorry for your loss Anna. This virus needs to be stopped now. My deepest condolences."
Anna – who is in a relationship with fellow TV host Sue Perkins – took the time to reply to the messages, admitting that the ordeal had been very difficult and that "not even an oatcake can cheer me up".
