Anna Passey has filmed a cameo role in ‘Free Rein’.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actress recently shot some scenes for the Netflix drama – which tells the story of a US teen who comes over to England for the summer and develops a friendship with a horse – and she was "really thrilled" to have been asked onto the programme.
She said: "I was really thrilled to be asked to go over and do ‘Free Rein’, which is also produced by Lime Pictures.
"I’d watched the first two series and I’m such a pony girl at heart that I loved it.
"If I was a teenager I would have been obsessed with that show, so to be asked to be a part of it was really lovely."
Anna plays horse rider Felicity who is a judge in the try-outs for the Under 18s Riding Team, and the soap star – who portrays Sienna Blake on the Channel 4 show – loved rolling back the years by going horse riding again.
She said: "I play a lady called Felicity, who is the ex-champion of the island where the show is set, so all the kids in the show know that she’s this really fabulous horse rider.
"She goes to help them to train and she is a judge at the final competition, where one of them gets selected for the under 18s team.
"It was really fun and I got to do some horse riding, which I’ve done since I was little, so I was absolutely in my element."
As well as horse riding, Anna has also been doing a lot of surfing recently during her holiday in Portugal.
She said: "I was learning before I went on holiday and I got to an OK stage, but having a week to go every morning for three or four hours in glorious sunshine has helped me improve loads.
"I’d never tried paddle boarding before but I tried that for the first time and was surprisingly quite good."
