Anna Kendrick learnt about lovemaking from a second hand sex guide.
The ‘Pitch Perfect’ star bought the manual when she was 19 because she had decided to lose her virginity to her boyfriend and felt as though she needed to bone up on what she would be required to do between the sheets before the big day.
Anna details the experience in her new memoir ‘Scrappy Little Nobody’ and she insists she had no issue with the fact the book – which she found in a West Hollywood thrift shop – had been used by someone else looking to maximise their erotic pleasure.
In an interview with the new winter 2016 issue of Flare magazine, she shared: "I mean, it wasn’t, like, well-worn. It was just urgent for me that I had to figure out how to get intimate with people."
Sex was constantly on Anna’s mind when she was a young adult, and she often found herself fretting about the natural act.
One thing, the ‘Twilight’ actress often worried about was how many guys she had slept with and whether the figure was too many or too few.
Anna – who was previously in a relationship with British director Edgar Wright – said: "When you’re 22, it feels like there’s an ideal you’re supposed to aspire to, but nobody will tell you what it is. It’s completely arbitrary, and some people are going to think it’s the right thing and some people are going to think it’s the wrong thing."
Anna, 31, wanted her book to give an honest account of her life and no topic was off limits for her, including her dalliances with cannabis smoking.
Speaking about her decision to include her experiences with the drug in the tome, she said: "I did think, ‘Oh, will mentioning that be a problem?’ "But it’s something that basically every comedian talks about openly."
When she did get stoned on marijuana Anna loved to get in the kitchen and bake.
Speaking about baking whilst high, she shared: "Concentrating on the measuring and the mixing and whatever just made my brain so happy. It was like my brain was a jar and this was the perfect amount of filling it could take."
