Ann Widdecombe has considered taking part in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ – but she has ruled herself out because of her height phobia.
The 71-year-old former politician has a "huge" fear of heights so much so she wouldn’t be able to walk over the bridge on the show, which campmates use to go to and from Bushtucker Trials and they use another platform to leave the jungle.
She said: "I’ve thought about the jungle from time to time. My problem is I’ve got huge, huge height phobia.
"I wouldn’t do [the high Bushtucker Trials].
"They wouldn’t ask me to parachute, that’s nonsense at my age, but they would expect me to walk over that bridge.
"And eat those revolting things … urgh."
But Ann is keen to take part in the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ tour again, after she had such fun the last time dancing with Craig Revel Horwood, as opposed to her show partner Anton du Beke.
She said: "I wouldn’t mind doing the ‘Strictly’ tour again.
"I danced with Craig [Revel Horwood] on tour. He threw me about even more roughly [than Anton]. Because he’s bigger. He’s built on a much bigger scale.
"Using his normal force had me on the other side of the room."
Ann previously wowed viewers with her moves on series eight of the Latin and ballroom show in 2010, and she admits the programme "completely changed the course" her retirement was heading in.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, she added: "The completely changed the course of my retirement.
"If anybody had said to me I was going to appear at the Royal Opera House I would’ve said, ‘Lie down and have an aspirin.’
"I was going to be at home writing and walking on the Moors and doing that sort of thing, that was what I thought my retirement was going to consist of."
