Andrew Scott wants to return to Sherlock

Andrew Scott is up for returning as Jim Moriarty for more episodes of ‘Sherlock’.
The 40-year-old actor was seen as the villain in a cameo capacity in the most recent run of the private detective series based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous literary character Sherlock Holmes, played by Benedict Cumberbatch.
Scott was the main antagonist in Series 1 and Series 2 and, although he is believed to be dead, Scott would be keen to come back if writers Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss can come up with a story worthy of his return.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "We only did seasons every couple of years but there are only a certain amount of stories they wanted to tell and it was difficult to get all the actors together. We are on hiatus at the moment so you never can tell. Maybe I will come back."
Confirming Scott’s statement that the cast – which includes Martin Freeman as John Watson – showrunner Moffat recently admitted the programme won’t be back until they have the "right idea".
Speaking at the BFI and Radio Times Television Festival in London over the weekend, he said: "Neither Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Gatiss, or Martin Freeman are against doing more Sherlocks.
"We have a great time making them, it’s a very, very nice bunch of people and we enjoy our reunions very much. And that means two things, we’d never want to do it if we didn’t think we could do it as well as we used to. It also means we’ll come back to it when we feel we’ve got the right idea. It could be off the earth quite a long while now. But I would be surprised as I’ve said before, if we never made any more episodes."
