Andrew Scott had a "weird" encounter with a ‘Fleabag’ fan who asked the actor if he and his mop could have a selfie.
The 42-year-old star played The Priest in the second series of Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s comedy-drama, which centred on the impossible love story between the Catholic figurehead and Phoebe’s flawed titular character.
Andrew has been dubbed "hot Priest" by fans of the BBC show and he has had no shortage of female attention due to the role but he’s now started to be approached by husbands and boyfriends for photos but he was left believing one man was wed to his mop during a strange afternoon in a park recently.
Speaking on ‘The Graham Norton Show’, he said: "It’s definitely changed things a little bit. Weirdly, it’s actually the husbands and boyfriends that come up to me. I had a strange encounter the other day. I was in the park going over my lines and this little man was just standing staring at me. Eventually he said, ‘My wife really fancies you, can I have a selfie?’ He had a mop in one hand and when we had taken the photo he just carried on staring while making the mop jiggle around. I wondered if the mop was his ‘wife’? It was really weird."
Andrew was joined on Graham’s sofa by Paloma Faith and the ‘Lullaby’ singer confessed that she had a huge crush on The Priest and had to have a "bit of alone time with episode five".
Sparking much laughter from the studio audience with her revelation, the 37-year-old pop star said: "I’m not shy of an awkward situation and confessed to Andrew when I first met him that I had a bit of alone time with episode five. I had my moment and was very happy! On behalf of anybody that’s got kids, has been in a long-term relationship, thank you from the deepest bottom of my heart!"
Other guests on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ include actor-and-comedian Stephen Fry and ‘Not Going Out’ Lee Mack.
‘The Graham Norton Show’ airs on BBC One at 10.35pm on Friday (07.06.19).
