Andrew Scott open to Fleabag in future

Andrew Scott is open to returning to ‘Fleabag’.
The 42-year-old actor will do "whatever" co-star and creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge wants him to do when it comes to his role as the priest, so if the 34-year-old star does bring back the show when she’s 50, as she hinted recently, he’ll be ready for it.
Asked if he’d be open to going back to the show in around 15 years, he said: "Oh, I’ll probably be dead. But if I’m still alive, yeah. Listen, I’ll be there, whatever she wants me to do."
But Andrew is pleased the show went out on a high after just two seasons and thinks it was the right thing to do.
He told DigitalSpy: "I love the fact that that story was completely self-contained and beautiful.
"I think sometimes when something is a success, you just want to elongate it for kind of the wrong reasons.
"With Phoebe, the thing that’s amazing about her is that she’s so instinctive about it. I really admire that something’s been a huge success, and she goes: ‘No, no, no – this is what I’m going to do next year’.
"It just shows the person that she is. Because I’m sure that there’s a lot of enticing things that she’s not been distracted by. I think that’s kind of admirable, in a way."
And the ‘Sherlock’ actor thinks letting a show run for too long will only "spoil" it for the audience as it stops feeling "special".
He said: "Unless you have a real reason to write it, audiences really pick it up, and then you sort of spoil something that’s actually really special to people.
"I’ll see what happens with Fleabag in 10 or 15 years."
