Andrew Maxwell’s wife defends Ian Wright

Andrew Maxwell’s wife Suraya El-Wakil has defended Ian Wright after he clashed with her husband on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The 44-year-old comedian and the former footballer have had a few disagreements on the ITV reality show, but Suraya – who wed Andrew in 2016 – insists Ian isn’t "bullying" her hubby.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Is it bullying? No, not at all. He’s a grown-up man. They’re all fine.
"You put anyone in that environment and you’re going to have disagreements, with sleep deprivation and food deprivation."
Suraya believes Ian has taken her place as his "jungle wife".
She said: "I think at the beginning it felt as though Kate Garraway was going to step into the jungle wife role for him, but now I feel like Ian’s being his jungle wife and they’re just having a lot of tiffs."
The pair clashed when Andrew decided to take a nap after a Bushtucker Trial, instead of doing his washing-up chores.
But Suraya explained it was a regular occurrence in her house.
She added: "I will be the first to tell you, he is not the easiest to live with. Like not doing the dishes after dinner is a daily struggle."
Her comments come after Ian’s wife Nancy Hallam shot to his defence after he received online backlash.
She said: "I don’t know. I think everyone gets a bit tetchy after a while. I don’t think it’s anything particular between them. They’re both quite strong characters."
And Nancy believes her husband is "doing well" in the jungle.
She added: "He has his moments but he’s doing well. I can’t wait to see him. It’s been a long time not seeing him.
"I think he’s doing brilliantly. Lots of challenges but he’s doing really well."
