Amy Willerton is pregnant with her first child.
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ star and her fiancé Daniel Day have confirmed they are expecting a baby, and the pair have already been on a babymoon to the Seychelles.
They decided to wait five months before revealing the good news while they underwent an amniocentesis, a medical procedure to detect fetal infections and determine the sex of the baby.
Following a history of disabilities in Amy’s family – her brother Ross, 25, was born with an extra chromosome and has a rare form of autism known as mosaicism, which Amy has always been told is not hereditary – the former ‘The Jump’ star wanted to check for any chromosomal and genetic conditions.
She told HELLO! magazine: "Our unborn baby was, in fact, OK."
The 27-year-old former Miss Universe Great Britain got engaged to Daniel in March this year, after they initially met in 2014.
She explained: "The baby was conceived not long after we got engaged in March. It’s definitely the most wonderful engagement present we could ever wish for."
Daniel – who proposed on a mountain in Switzerland at sunrise – added: "I couldn’t have asked for it to go better.
"She’s like Sherlock Holmes – you can’t get anything by her.
"Now it does feel like the next chapter."
The lovebirds may postpone their wedding, because they want to "get it right".
Amy said: "Our wedding is about telling our friends and family that we want to be together forever and what counts is that our little baby will be with us. That’s really special.
"If it happens next summer as we had planned, amazing. If it happens a little later, that’s okay, too."
