Amy Schumer only tried on one wedding dress for her "spur of the moment" marriage.
The ‘Trainwreck’ star has confirmed she has tied the knot with 37-year-old chef Chris Fischer at a secret ceremony in Malibu earlier this week, and her longtime stylist Leesa Evans has revealed the embroidered lace and tulle A-line gown 36-year-old Amy wore on the big day was the very first one she tried on.
Leesa told PEOPLE: "Amy said, ‘Text me when you wake up, Chris and I want to get married.’ And then I called her when I woke up and she was like, ‘Let’s try on dresses today.’ It was literally that of spur of the moment.
"It felt effortless and comfortable and that’s really what she wanted. She wanted it to be easy, she wanted to feel like herself and she wanted to have a great time and a great experience while wearing it. She wore flats, she didn’t need to wear a bunch of undergarments and it was just so easy and it felt right. So we both kind of looked at each other and giggled and said, ‘Well, let’s just go with it. Why try any more?’ and that’s what we did."
Amy’s rep has confirmed that ‘The Characters’ star John Early appeared dressed in drag as his character Vicky to conduct the matrimonial vows.
During the ceremony, John wore a sash which read "Reverend Vicky" over a pair of blue jeans and a shirt.
Amy and Chris were first romantically linked in November 2017.
Before that, the ‘Snatched’ actress and comedian dated furniture designer Ben Hanisch for 18 months until last May.
The day after Amy’s secret wedding, as pictures of the nuptials began to flood the internet, her ex Ben, 30, took to Instagram to pay tribute to his new girlfriend, Janine Doherty.
Sharing a black-and-white snap of Janine, Ben wrote: "I am one lucky guy.. (sic)"
