Amy Dowden wants to be partnered with Hugh Jackman on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 28-year-old professional ballroom and Latin American dancer has dreamed of quickstepping across the dancefloor with the 51-year-old actor in the BBC dancing competition and hopes he signs up for the series in the future.
She told RadioTimes.com: "Do you know who I think would be really good? I say this every time – Hugh Jackman.
"All I would say is whoever I get, I’ll make sure they get lots of fun and they just love the experience."
While Hugh is an experienced dancer, Amy – who came second in last year’s competition with actor Karim Zeroual – also loves seeing how less confident celebrities improve throughout the show.
She explained: "It’s always the ones that you that you don’t expect, like Chris Ramsey.
"The improvement from week one to making it all the way to the semi finals, it’s those surprise celebs that I love."
Chris finished in fourth place with his professional dance partner Karen Hauer last year after making a lasting impression on the judges.
He said in his exit interview: "I’m very proud of myself. I never ever, ever thought I’d make it past week two… like, genuinely, no expectations whatsoever, I thought I’d be gone.
"I’m astounded and I’ve got to thank Karen, literally she’s just amazing. She’s the best teacher, she’s so incredible at her job, she’s so patient it’s crazy."
Meanwhile, Amy was hospitalised near the start of the Covid-19 crisis in the UK after suffering a stress-induced flare-up of Crohn’s disease – but nobody was allowed to visit her due to the threat of the virus.
She said: "I did end up going into hospital for a couple of nights with a flare up. That was awful because nobody could come and see me, obviously.
"It’s OK, there’s a lot worse happening to people, but I needed medication."
