Amy Dowden was hospitalised amid pandemic

Amy Dowden was hospitalised near the start of the coronavirus crisis in the UK.
The 28-year-old dancer has revealed she was forced to go into hospital a couple of months ago after suffering a stress-induced flare-up of Crohn’s disease – but nobody was allowed to visit her due to the threat of the virus.
Amy – who starred alongside Karim Zeroual on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ last year – told HELLO! magazine: "I did end up going into hospital for a couple of nights with a flare up. That was awful because nobody could come and see me, obviously.
"It’s OK, there’s a lot worse happening to people, but I needed medication."
Amy and fellow dancer Ben Jones planned to get married over the summer.
But the dancer has already been forced to scrap her hen party due to the pandemic.
Amy – who has ‘Strictly’ stars Oti Mabuse and Dianne Buswell among her bridesmaids – shared: "I didn’t have a clue what the plan was – it was going to be a big surprise. My bridesmaids worked so hard on it, but it’s just one of those things.
"There’s far worse things happening out there in the world, people are losing family members and friends, and their jobs, so I can’t complain that I didn’t get my hen."
Meanwhile, Craig Revel Horwood is confident there’s "a way around" social distancing measures to ensure ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ goes ahead as planned.
The TV star thinks BBC bosses will ultimately be able to overcome the challenge posed by the pandemic.
Craig shared: "I’ve spoken to the producers and they’re working through absolutely everything to make it happen. I know, fingers crossed, it will.
"There is some way around it, there has to be. People love the show, it’s great entertainment … We really want it back and I know BBC One are working extremely hard to make that happen for the audience."
