Amber Heard missed her deposition due to an emergency.
The 30-year-old actress had been due to return to Los Angeles from England to be questioned under oath by her estranged husband Johnny Depp’s legal team on Friday (12.08.16) morning over her domestic violence and divorce case, but was unable to get back due to an unspecified incident.
According to TMZ, legal documents stated that "to no fault of her own, Amber was unable to arrange for a flight to travel from London."
Amber’s lawyers went on to allege Johnny’s legal representatives have been "waging a malicious war" in an attempt to stop her from speaking out.
The ‘Magic Mike XXL’ star’s lawyers, Samantha Spector and Joseph Koenig, said: "Johnny’s counsel continues to wage a malicious war against Amber in the Court of Public Opinion in an effort to intimidate and discourage Amber from telling the truth."
The legal team went on to suggest the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star will never address the allegations he was violent towards his estranged wife under oath.
They added: "It is a disturbing shame that Johnny’s lawyers continue to pursue a relentless personal attack against Amber."
They plan to ask a judge to push the deposition back to Saturday (13.08.16).
In addition, a letter dated August 11 that was attached to the filing accused the 53-year-old actor of reneging on a settlement agreement.
But Johnny’s own lawyer, Laura Wasser, responded in a separate letter that the offer was sent to her client for his approval.
Earlier this week, Johnny’s lawyers claimed the ‘Danish Girl’ actress refused testify at her deposition last Saturday (06.08.16).
Legal documents filed by the ‘Black Mass’ actor’s attorney claimed the actress – who alleges she was physically and verbally abused by the actor throughout their marriage – didn’t enter the deposition room over the weekend.
The papers claim she turned up late at 11:50am for the 10am out-of-court testimony and despite being there until 9pm she didn’t make it into the room, and was instead crying in an adjoining office and yelling in defiance.
Due to this, Johnny’s lawyers requested the domestic violence case be dismissed or that she is prohibited from testifying.
However, it was also reported that Amber, 30, never "refused" to enter the room.
A source said earlier this week: "She was there and ready to proceed. She never refused to go in."
The pair met on the set of 2011 film ‘The Rum Diary’ and were married for just 15 months but split in May.
Johnny vehemently denies all the accusations made against him.
