Amber Davies has branded Love Island’s Hayley Hughes "nasty" and "malicious".
The 22-year-old star – who triumphed in last year’s show – has hit out at the 21-year-old model after she had an explosive argument with fellow Islander Eyal Booker, who she is coupled up with, on Sunday night’s (10.06.18) episode.
Amber has shown her support for model Eyal, insisting Hayley’s comments were too personal.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, Amber said: "I think he had a fair point to kick off last night, I really do.
"I think the way she spoke behind his back; she was quite nasty and malicious.
"You know, she said, ‘He makes me feel sick.’ I think she could have approached it in a very different way."
In the explosive argument, Eyal said: "You’ve been getting personal for no reason.
"You always say that you’re a straight up person and you say it how it is, but you’ve been walking around, b****ing about me to other people. You know exactly what you’ve been saying."
Amber does, however, support Essex couple Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham, and believes their romance is real.
When asked about who she thought has a good relationship, she said: "Jack and Dani hands down, they are the most genuine.
"I can see a real relationship forming."
Amber sadly split with her boyfriend, Kem Cetinay, who she won last year’s ‘Love Island’ with, in late 2017, but has recently admitted he was "the right person" for her, but "at the completely wrong time".
She said: "I struggled a little bit when we first broke up and Kem knows that. He was so brilliant with me. I’d message him and he’d talk me through it. He has been brilliant with me.
"For me, I always say, it was the right person but just at the completely wrong time."
