Amanda Clapham joins Stardust musical

Amanda Clapham has joined the cast of musical ‘Stardust’.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ star – who played Holly Cunningham for five years on the Channel 4 soap – is delighted to have landed the role of Delante in Shahid Iqbal Khan and Samir Bhamra’s production.
She wrote on Twitter: "Very excited to be back on stage and to work with you Samir @phizzical & the team! #theatre #musical #thriller (sic)"
Samir replied: "We are very excited to be working with you too!"
Robby Khela has written the pop and R&B songs for the musical and he will also portray main character Amar in the project, which is said to be the first South Asian theatre production to feature same-sex marriage.
The musical will also delve into issues such as the #MeToo movement, patriarchy, and toxic masculinity.
Christoph L. Dorocant will play music mogul Cyrus Singhania, Sophie Kandola will portray Amor, and Harriette Mullen, Nataylia Roni and Aizaac Sidhu will also feature.
News of Amanda’s musical role comes after she and Sophie Porley departed ‘Hollyoaks’ on the same day when their respective characters Holly and Ellie Nightingale left the village to travel the word in September.
Amanda later returned for one episode in January when Holly called Zack Loveday (Duayne Boachie) at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris to declare her love for him, and he left the village for the French capital.
Following her September exit from ‘Hollyoaks’, Amanda admitted it had been a "pleasure" to play Holly for five years.
She wrote on Instagram: "And we’re off!!! Who knows where they will end up?! So, so happy that Ellie and Holly have decided to take control of their lives and explore the World! It’s the end of an Era, so much has happened!?!
"Goodbye Holly, you have been a pleasure to play for the past 5 years and I am going to miss your outfits, your tantrums, your knee high socks?!?
"But most of all your family @stephwaring @ellis_hollins @hollyoaksofficial Thank you everyone for your endless support, Hollyoaks has the best fans and I appreciate all of your time and love for Holly! Time for an adventure of my own (sic)"
