Alison King set for Coronation Street return?

Alison King could be set for a return to ‘Coronation Street’.
The ‘Dream Team’ actress – who shot her final scenes as Carla Connor in April after 10 years on the soap – has been spotted on set in recent weeks and it is said show boss Kate Oates is keen for her to reprise her role in Weatherfield.
A source said: "Alison decided to leave before Kate took over the role of series producer, something Kate was gutted about.
"Kate is a big fan of Alison and is keen to get her back full-time as she loved her character."
Carla was last seen on the cobbles in May when she headed to Devon to start a new life after blurting out that she cheated on husband Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) with her arch-enemy Tracy Barlow’s (Kate Ford) lover Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) following a boozy session a few months prior.
But soap bosses left the door open for the raven-haired beauty to return to the soap.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: "Alison struggled to find work since leaving in the summer and the cast and viewers would love her to return too.
"There was always an emphasis on the door being left open for her character and several storylines are coming up that could make that happen."
‘Corrie’ bosses are said to be hoping to convince Alison to return for a wedding between her on-screen dad Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley) and Jenny Bradley (Sally Ann Matthews) as he’s set to pop the question in an upcoming storyline.
Following her departure, Alison admitted she wanted to take "a while off" and planned to star in a comedy.
She said: "I’m going to miss the people here, I’ve made a lot of great mates, but I’m tired. I’m going to take a while off and then see what happens. I don’t know what I’m going to do next, something completely different, maybe a comedy."
Alison first appeared in ‘Corrie’ as Mrs. Fanshaw, a customer of builder Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas), in 2004, and first starred as Carla in December 2006.
