Alicia Silverstone bags role in Killing Of A Sacred Deer

Alicia Silverstone has been confirmed to be joining the cast of ‘Killing Of A Sacred Deer’.
The 39-year-old ‘Clueless’ actress will join the likes of Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman in the cast of the psychological drama, which will be directed by Yorgos Lanthimos.
‘Killing Of A Sacred Deer’ follows the story of Steven – played by 40-year-old Colin – a surgeon forced to make a sacrifice as his life starts to falls apart as a result of the sinister behaviour of a teenager (Barry Keoghan). Nicole, 49, plays Steven’s wife, and Alicia has been cast as the teenager’s mother.
Element Pictures says the movie – which has paranormal themes – tells the story of "a young man that needs to take revenge, a doctor that has to make a decision, and his family that must survive."
Also joining the cast is ‘Tomorrowland’ actress Raffey Cassidy, ’12 Years A Slave’s Bill Camp, and ‘The Unspoken’ actor Sunny Suljic.
The story – which is based on a Euripides tragedy – is written by Yorgos and his regular collaborator Efthymis Filippou.
Yorgos is also producing the film, alongside Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe’s Element Pictures. Financial backing comes from Film4, the Irish Film Board, and New Sparta Films.
Filming has already begun on the project in Cincinnati.
