Ali Bastian attempted Dirty Dancing lift at wedding

Ali Bastian and David O’Mahoney attempted the ‘Dirty Dancing’ lift at their wedding.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ star has opened up about her nuptials to the actor in 2019, revealing the newlywed couple love the 1987 movie and tried their hand at the iconic lift made famous by Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey.
Asked what her favourite film is, she said: "It may still have to be the 1980s classic ‘Dirty Dancing’. I still want to do ‘the lift’ successfully from the end of the film. We tried it at our wedding – it was a disaster but it made for a funny video."
And the 37-year-old actress danced to her favourite song at her wedding.
Asked what track she loves, she said, explaining about its sentiment for her and David: "Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls. It was our first dance at our wedding."
Ali also opened up about how she is "happiest" at home with her "little family".
She shared: "I love lazy days at home with my little family. We have two dogs, Molly and Mable, and we are expecting our first baby, which is so exciting …
"If we’re talking about what I’d run into a burning house to save if we had to make a swift exit, it would without a doubt be Molly and Mable."
The ‘Doctors’ actress says her mother is her greatest influence.
She explained to The Lady magazine: "My mother is my greatest influence. She is kind and compassionate and stronger than she knows. She has always encouraged my brother and me to follow our passions without fear."
