Alexandre Desplat will compose the score to ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’.
The 54-year-old film composer – who won the Academy Award for his work on ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ – will create the incidental music for the spin-off sci-fi film and will begin work on his tracks in the coming weeks.
Speaking to Heyuguys.com about the upcoming project and whether he started the process, he said: "No that will come in a few weeks."
Although Alexandre – who made his debut in 2003 with ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’ movie – has yet to begin the recording process, he is familiar with the storyline of the movie directed by Gareth Edwards.
He said: "I saw the trailer of course, yes. Very exciting. Gareth is a fantastic director and he will do a beautiful film I’m sure."
‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ sees Felicity Jones cast in the lead role as Rebellion fighter Jyn Erso, and is joined in the cast by Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen and Alan Tudyk.
The ‘Star Wars’ prequel will be released this December.
