Alex Scott and Sam Robertson dating?

Alex Scott and Sam Robertson have sparked speculation they are dating.

The retired footballer and former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star is said to have had dinner with the ‘Coronation Street’ actor – who plays Adam Barlow on the cobbles – at the Dean Street Townhouse in London’s Soho.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "They both looked totally relaxed about being out together, even though they’re both very famous now.

"’Strictly’ made Alex a household name so she’s instantly recognisable, and Sam is a big name on ‘Corrie’ so they probably knew they’d be spotted out together but didn’t seem to mind at all.

"They laughed and flirted with each other and had a great time before heading off looking very cosy. They’re clearly both happy."

The blossoming romance comes after Alex, 35, has been linked to ‘A Question of Sport’.

It’s said BBC bosses want the former England star to replace veteran presenter Sue Barker as the host of the quiz show after she impressed producers with two appearances on the long-running series.

She is expected to discuss a deal before signing a contract in December ahead of a formal announcement in 2021.

An insider previously said: "Alex is being lined up as host, as a direct replacement for Sue. Like Sue, she’s a former sportswoman and she also has five years of broadcasting under her belt.

"She’s a natural on camera and, crucially, lives and breathes all things sport. This has nothing to do with gender, nor is it a case of the BBC trying to be woke.

"While a lot can happen over the next three months, as things stand Alex is genuinely considered the best woman for the job."
