Alex Rodriguez has been teaching Jennifer Lopez about baseball.
The retired sportsman – who spent time with the Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers and New York Yankees over a 22-year career – was back to watch the Los Angeles Dodgers take on the Boston Red Sox in the World Series over the weekend, and he has been teaching his partner about some of the game’s nuances as she showed off certain hand signs.
He told EXTRA: "I love bunting and hitting and running; the modern-day fan kind of forgot about that because it’s not a part of it anymore, so I said, ‘Jennifer, what’s the sign? What’s bunt?’
"And then she went, ‘That’s hit and run,’ so we have fun… I teach her and our kids the signs at dinnertime."
Although A-Rod has taught J-Lo about bunting – a technique which sees the batter loosely hold the bat in front of the plate and intentionally tap the ball into ply – he isn’t looking to get any dance lessons in return.
Alex – who has Natasha, 13, and Ella, 10, with his former wife Cynthia Scurtis – joked: "Let’s not get crazy. There is no sign that can ever help me or amount of drinks that can help me be a good dancer."
His comments come after his partner – who he has been dating since March 2017 – revealed they have a "nice dynamic" in their relationship.
J-Lo previously gushed: "When you have a partner that is so supportive of what you do, you don’t have to hold back.
"With him, it’s like, how much more do you want to do? How much bigger do you want to get? How can I help you? Where do you need me to be?
"And I like to do the same for him. It’s just a nice dynamic that I have never experienced, and I am really happy about that."
