Alex Jones wants her son to learn Welsh.
The bilingual TV presenter currently lives in London with her New Zealand-born husband Charlie Thomson and their four-month-old son Ted – but Alex is hopeful her baby boy will eventually become fluent in both English and Welsh.
The 40-year-old star – who is best known for presenting ‘The One Show’ – shared: "It’s hard in London but I will definitely speak Welsh to him and Charlie knows the odd word.
"There’s a Welsh primary school here [in London] and I would love him to go there.
"It’s part of my heritage and is a big part of my identity. It’s a big thing for me for Ted to experience it – I really benefited from being bilingual."
Alex, who was born in the Welsh town of Ammanford, returned to the BBC show on a part-time basis in April and she’s admitted it’s been tough having to leave her son at home while she goes off to work.
But Alex has no doubts she made the right decision.
She told the BBC: "Going back part-time was the right thing to do – it’s good for Ted to know women work.
"And actually it comes down to necessity, there’s no choice, I have to work."
Meanwhile, the brunette beauty revealed she is looking forward to Friday (02.07.17), when she will be having her first night out with her pals since giving birth.
‘The One Show’ is being filmed in the Welsh capital as Cardiff hosts the Champions League soccer final between Spanish side Real Madrid and Italian giants Juventus at the Principality Stadium – and Alex cannot wait to revel in the post-match atmosphere.
She said: "I’m having my first night out with my friends since having the baby afterwards. It’s going to be amazing. I know Cardiff will do us proud."
