Alex Bain "can’t wait to have his own little family."
The ‘Coronation Street’ star – who plays school boy Simon Barlow in the long-running soap – has shot down rumours he’s split from his teenage girlfriend Levi Selby, 16, and has said he’s looking forward to becoming a father to their little girl in December.
Taking to his Facebook account, the 16-year-old actor said: "I’m still with my girlfriend, and can’t wait to have my own little family! (sic)"
His public announcement comes just a week after his partner set tongues wagging when she claimed that it was just "she and her little girl from now on."
Taking to her Facebook account, Levi uploaded a photograph of a recent ultrasound and wrote: "Me and my little girl from now on!! Can’t wait to start my life with her."
It’s believed the couple have been going through a "bad patch" recently but have managed to patch up their differences and have even picked out a name for their baby – calling her Lydia-Rose – ahead of her birth in just four months’ time.
A source told The Sun Online: "They’ve been through a bad patch but are now stronger than ever and so excited to meet their baby. It feels even more real now they’ve got a name. They just want to shout it from the rooftops."
The pair’s baby news was announced back in May and, although he didn’t make a public announcement like Levi did on social media, he had been sharing the joy.
A source said at the time: "Alex has been telling everyone he’s going to be a father. He isn’t keeping it a secret. It’s hard to tell if he’s happy about it or not but he’s definitely not ashamed of it.
"Some people have been saying how young he is to be having a baby. It’s only happened to one other person at his school in recent years so it is pretty shocking."
