Alesha Dixon wants to be the ‘next J.K. Rowling

Alesha Dixon hopes her children’s book will go on to become as big as the ‘Harry Potter’ series and make her the "next J.K Rowling".
The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge has signed a deal with Scholastic to write two books that centre on Aurora Beam, a young female superhero, and although she is in the middle of working on her first story she has big plans for her heroine.
Alesha, 38, wants kids to connect with Aurora in the same way they did with Rowling’s boy wizard when Rowling’s first tome ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ was published back in 1997.
Speaking to the Daily Mail newspaper, she shared: "I came up with this character called Aurora Beam. I wanted to create a young, female superhero. I wish I could be the next J.K. Rowling."
The former Mis-teeq singer’s first book is set to be released later this year, when she will join an ever-growing list of celebrities who have penned children’s stories, including Jamie Lee Curtis, McFly’s Harry Judd, Ricky Gervais, Madonna, Geri Horner and Alesha’s fellow ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge David Walliams.
Alesha will surely be hoping that her own daughter Azura – her child with partner Azuka Ononye – will sit down to read her book when it hits stores.
Alesha and Azuka enjoyed a night out together on Thursday (30.03.17) when they went to Thorpe Park to try terrifying new ride Derren Brown’s Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon.
The couple found the courage to go on the attraction which is a 15-minute journey that starts on a suspended 20 tonne Victorian Carriage. Upon boarding the train, you step into a modern day tube carriage and put on a VR headset to start your journey into fear.
They were joined by a host of other stars including Jake Bugg, Nicholas Hoult, Marnie Simpson and McFly’s Danny Jones.
