Alan Carr lands new chat show

Alan Carr has landed a new chat show on Channel 4.
The 40-year-old comedian’s programme ‘Chatty Man’, which he has fronted since 2009, is being pulled off air temporarily after a dip in ratings following its move to Thursday night.
But bosses at the network aren’t ready to wave goodbye to Alan just yet and have asked him to host ‘Happy Hour’, which has a similar concept as ‘Chatty man’ where he’ll interview celebrities but without the booze, in a pre-watershed slot.
A source told The Sun Online: "This is huge news for Alan – he’s getting a major new show. ‘Chatty Man’ isn’t being axed and could still come back, but this is a new show that everyone is excited about to set Alan up for the future.
"It’s going to be on much earlier at night to introduce him to a new audience, so there won’t be any drinking with guests.
"But there’ll be loads of other shenanigans with celebrities like crazy games. It’s a big show of faith in Channel 4 for Alan who has become one of our biggest stars."
The forthcoming show will also have live music from chart-topping artists and will allow the audience to get stuck in.
‘Chatty Man’ has always aired on Friday nights but it was shunted across to Thursdays earlier this year after it lagged behind in the ratings war against his competitor Jonathan Ross and ITV’s ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’.
‘Happy Hour’ will hit television screens later this year.
