Alan Carr will front a new celebrity-driven show on Channel 4.
The 40-year-old comedian’s long-running programme ‘Chatty Man’ may be on the way out but that doesn’t mean he’ll be leaving screens any time soon as it’s believed he’s been handed a new series called ‘Alan Meets’, which will see superstars let him in on their life.
A source said: "Alan is really excited about getting his new project off the ground. The idea is that he will travel around the world meeting all sorts of A-list stars, spend quality time with them and show a different side to viewers, while finding out some secrets."
And, although details surrounding the new series are being kept tightly under wraps for the time being, it’s thought Alan jetted across to Las Vegas, Nevada, earlier this summer to meet his first guest Calvin Harris following his split from Taylor Swift.
The insider explained to The Sun newspaper: "He went out to Vegas recently where Calvin does his nightclub residency and did some filming with him.
"It was only a test run and the format is in its early stages of development, so it’s yet to be decided whether the Calvin stuff will make the screen, but it was a good start."
And it seems the new show has given Alan – who is known for his high-pitched voice – a new lease of life as he’s determined to adopt a "manlier" tone on television screens from now on.
He added to the Daily Star newspaper: "I want to be manlier. I don’t want to mince and I don’t want to talk like this. I want to talk like [the actor] Morgan Freeman."
