Aerosmith consider tour without Steven Tyler

Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford says the band has considered touring without Steven Tyler.
The 56-year-old rocker has revealed he and his bandmates, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer, have discussed following AC/DC’s lead and replacing Steven with another frontman if he doesn’t want to work with them due to him currently recording a country album.
AC/DC have drafted in Guns N’ Roses star Axl Rose to join them on their ‘Rock or Bust Tour’ after singer Brian Johnson had to pull out of the concerts due to a serious hearing problem.
Asked if they would tour without co-founder Steven, Brad told website Metal Rules: "Absolutely, we have considered it but whether it will happen I don’t know. I think it would be great."
Brad has a number of musicians on his wish list for fronting Aerosmith including Axl and Miles Kennedy who performs with Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash.
Asked who he’d like to replace 68-year-old Steven, he said: "A lot of people, everybody from Miles Kennedy to Axl [laughing]. We had a bunch of people a while ago like Sammy Hagar. It would be a lot of fun."
Aerosmith, who are on hiatus while they work on other projects, have gone through a lot of "turmoil" as a group, but Brad is sure it will all work out in the end.
He said: "There is still a lot of turmoil and it can be frustrating. It should be easy. The whole thing started because of the music, if the focus was right then everything would be fine, but we don’t. Let the drivers drive and let the music happen everything will fall into place. We get caught up into a lot of silly stuff."
Brad thinks they could make a new album as they have a lot of material between them, but everyone needs to commit to the project and get in the studio.
He said: "I really don’t know. There are a lot of musical ideas floating around as Joe has a bunch. It’s just a matter of us getting together and developing it and whether that’s going to happen we just have to wait and see. "
Aerosmith’s last studio LP was 2012’s ‘Music form Another Dimension!’.
