Aerosmith announce farewell tour

Aerosmith have announced their 2017 farewell tour.
The ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ hitmakers will kick off their ‘Aero-Vederci Baby!’ farewell shows at Hayarkon Park in Tel Aviv, Israel, on May 17 and will play their final show on July 5 at Hallenstadion in Zurich, Switzerland.
Frontman Steven Tyler said: "Aerosmith just got done ripping through South America like true ambassadors of rock…The band is unstoppable right now and in Europe, we’re going to keep doing what we do best … Let The Music Do The Talking … Living On The Edge, and living to rock another day."
And guitarist Joe Perry added: "It’s been 3 years since we have been on tour in Europe and I can speak for my brothers that we can’t wait to get over there and take it up a few notches. Last tour in South America we were running on all cylinders and I can see no reason to let up now."
The legendary rock group – also comprised of Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford – have just completed a series of sold-out shows in South America, rocking to their die-hard fans in Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Bolivia, Brazil, Peru and Mexico.
The ‘Aero-Vederci Baby!’ tour sees them perform at several festivals including Sweden Rock, France’s Hellfest and the legendary Download Festival in Donington, Leicestershire, England, for their only UK date.
Tyler, 68, previously teased they were planning a final tour and that there could be the possibility of making one last record too.
He said: "I’m doing 30 [solo] shows from May until August. And then in 2017 we go out with Aerosmith. We’re probably doing a farewell tour. Look, there’s two bands that still have the original members, us and the Stones. I’m grateful for that. Whether we do a farewell tour or go into the studio and do another record, I’m just excited about it."
Outside of Aerosmith, Tyler released his debut solo album, ‘We’re All Somebody From Somewhere’, and Perry was on the road with The Hollywood Vampires, also comprised of Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan.
