Adil Ray drops huge Strictly Come Dancing hint

Adil Ray has dropped a huge hint he has signed up for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

The ‘Good Morning Britain’ co-host teased fans he could be taking part in the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition later this year during a chat with professional dancer Neil Jones on Friday’s (24.07.20) ‘GMB’.

Asked when they find out who the celebrity contestants are, Neil said: "We find out when you find out. We’ll be in rehearsals and it’ll be coming out, and at that moment we’ll be like, ‘How tall is this person? Where do they live?’ We have no idea."

Adil quipped: "About 5’9" – roughly the same height."

The 46-year-old presenter is rumoured to be joining the dance competition after a number of ‘GMB’ hosts have previously taken part, and Adil lapped up the speculation, asking Neil if it’s best to get some training before the show.

He said: "If a celebrity was doing it, is it acceptable to do some pre-show training?"

Neil answered: "Yeah, it’s fine. I personally like, when I get a partner like Alex [Scott] last year, a complete beginner, no bad habits. It’s a lot easier to dance with someone like that. "Sometimes when they have a bit of training, it might be different to what you’re gonna dance with them. It’s not easy. But if you can get some practise in, do it!"

Adil quickly replied: "You’re talking generally, obviously."

Wrapping up the interview, co-host Ranvir Singh then told Neil: "Go easy on Adil, won’t you? When he’s training."

Also rumoured to be joining the lineup this year are TV presenter Lorraine Kelly, Westlife’s Mark Feehily, ‘Hollyoaks’ actress Jennifer Metcalfe, former ‘Coronation Street’ star Katie McGlynn, and ex-Radio 1 DJ Maya Jama.

Earlier this week, Christine Lampard and Kate Garraway fuelled rumours Lorraine Kelly could sign up for this year’s competition after she took a break from her hosting duties.

While teasing what is to come on ‘Lorraine’, Kate said: "One of the reasons that she is not here is that she’s gone into a ‘Strictly’ bubble! You know how they’re talking about couples going into bubbles for social distancing? Lorraine is rumoured to be one of them."

Christine – who is currently filling in for Lorraine during her summer break – asked the crew: "Has anyone got any information in this studio? No, not a word I’m being told in my ear. But if I hear any gossip, I will tell you when I hear, obviously."
