Adele is among the nominees for the Song of the Year crown at the BMI London Awards.
The chart-topping hitmaker’s single ‘Hello’ has been shortlisted for the coveted award alongside Ed Sheeran’s ‘Photgraph’, George Ezra’s ‘Budapest’ and Ellie Goulding’s ‘On My Mind’.
‘Hello’ marked Adele’s long-awaited return to the music business, having taken a four-year break between her sophomore album ’21’ and her third album ’25’.
The success of the single kick-started a memorable year for the London-born singer, who subsequently headlined Glastonbury, and also won two BRIT Awards and five Billboard gongs.
Other songs nominated for the award, which is to be handed out at the Dorchester Hotel in London on October 10, include ‘One Last Time’ by Ariana Grande and ‘Hey Mama’ by David Guetta featuring Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha and Afrojack.
Elsewhere, Karen Ørsted is also up for the award for ‘Lean On’, performed as MØ alongside Major Lazer x DJ Snake, while Gian Piero Reverberi and Gianfranco Reverberi have been shortlisted for their hit ‘Lose My Mind’, which was made famous by Brett Eldredge.
