Beyoncé and Adele will go head-to-head for three gongs at the 2017 Grammy Awards.
The 35-year-old R&B superstar and ‘Hello’ hitmaker are both up for Album of The Year, Record of The Year and Song of The Year.
The ‘Crazy in Love’ hitmaker is also up for Best Contemporary Album, Best Music Film for ‘Lemonade’, Best Music Video for ‘Formation’, Best Pop Solo Performance for ‘Hold Up’, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for ‘Freedom’ featuring Kendrick Lamar and Best Rock Performance for ‘Don’t Hurt Yourself’ featuring Jack White.
Neil Portnow, president and CEO of the Recording Academy, commented: "I usually don’t shout out artists, but if you look at Beyoncé, you see a rock performance, a rap-sung performance, a music film, a video, urban contemporary, song of the year.
"That’s a very, very broad musical palate to paint on that she’s chosen. We applaud artists who have the guts to do that."
Justin Bieber’s ‘Purpose’, Drake’s ‘Views’ and Sturgill Simpson’s ‘A Sailor’s Guide To Earth are all up for the prestigious Album of The Year accolade.
‘One Dance’ hitmaker Drake follows shortly behind Beyoncé with eight nominations.
He is also up for Best Rap Performance for ‘Pop Style’, Best Sung Performance and Best Rap song for ‘Hotline Bling’, Record of The Year, Best Pop Duo for ‘Work’ with Rihanna, Best Rap Album for ‘Views’.
Kanye West and Rihanna have both received eight nods each.
The ‘Bound 2’ rapper is up for Best Rap Album for ‘The Life of Pablo’, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song for ‘Ultralight Beam’, Best Sung Performance for ‘Famous’, among others.
Both Prince and David Bowie have received posthumous nominations.
The late ‘Purple Rain’ hitmaker is up for Best Engineered Album for ‘Hit N Run Phase Two’ and the ‘Starman’ hitmaker is listed for a total of four nominations for his final LP ‘Blackstar for Best Rock Performance, Rock Song, Alternative Music Album and Engineered Album.
The winners will be announced at a star-studded bash hosted by James Corden on February 12, 2017.
