Adam Levine didn’t think he would ever become friends with his fellow ‘The Voice’ coaches.
The Maroon 5 frontman says appearing on the show has given him "crazy" friendships with the likes of Usher, Christina Aguilera and Shakira, something which he never expected.
He shared: "We all started as singers and musicians, it’s a sense of community now, it was like, ‘Wow we know each other’ when before it was all about music and now we are all friends."
Adam – who joined ‘The Voice’ in 2011 – insists musicians are always very busy and believes that is why they find it difficult to get to know their fellow music artists.
Speaking to Clara Amfo on BBC Radio 1, he said: "Everyone is always so busy that you don’t get to make friends with your peers. With ‘The Voice’ I now have these lifelong friends that I communicate with and talk to. I wouldn’t have thought I would have been friends with Shakira or Usher, it’s crazy."
And the 37-year-old singer is very busy himself at the moment, with him and his wife Behati Prinsloo having welcomed their first child, Dusty Rose, into the world last month.
Speaking about fatherhood, he shared: "I’ve been a parent for three weeks; what do I know? I don’t know anything, but it’s kind of part of the beauty of it, honestly. There are a lot of instincts, a lot of things that kind of kick in and switch on. It’s a beautiful experience."
