Adam Driver mulled over Star Wars: The Force Awakens role for months

Adam Driver took months to accept the role of Kylo Ren in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.
The 32-year-old actor has admitted that despite the popularity of the franchise, he spent a lengthy period of time deliberating whether to accept the role, which sees him kill the iconic Han Solo.
He said: "That plot came up very quickly as something that would happen. I wanted to think about it for a couple of months, just to make sure [I wanted to be the man who killed Han Solo].
"Not just that but it played a huge part in my thinking – I love Han Solo. But the thing as a whole. The scale of it. It’s a huge franchise."
Adam revealed that what made him accept the role was knowing that in doing so, it would boost his career, enabling him to pick and choose his roles more freely.
He said: "I can say no to whatever I don’t want to do. The director then becomes the biggest part of it. If I’m lucky enough to get the chance to work with a particular director, then the part I’m playing is kind of secondary."
Adam has become one of the most in-demand actors since his appearance in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, but admitted recently that he hates watching himself on camera.
He said: "I find it hard to remember what we were doing two years ago. But I also try not to watch anything that I’m in, because it was such a different time when we made it. I try not to have any control over what happens to it afterwards."
