Adam Driver felt "sick" to his stomach when he watched ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.
The 33-year-old actor – who portrays villain Ben Solo/Kylo Ren in the popular sci-fi franchise – has admitted he feared he was going to "puke" when he watched his character kill off his father Han Solo (Harrison Ford) in the 2015 movie, because he didn’t know how fans would react to the murder.
Speaking to GQ Magazine, Driver said: "When I watched the premiere, I felt sick to my stomach… Immediately, I thought I was going to puke.
"I was holding my wife [Joanne Tucker]’s hand, and she’s like, ‘You’re really cold. Are you OK?’
"Because I just knew what was coming – I kill Harrison Ford – and I didn’t know how this audience of 2,000 people was going to respond to it, you know?"
Driver is set to reprise his role as Kylo Ren in ‘The Last Jedi’ this year alongside Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Oscar Isaac (Poe), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Andy Serkis (Snoke), Domhnall Gleeson (General Lux) and the late Carrie Fisher as General Leia.
The film marks the last outing for Fisher, who tragically died in December last year, and Driver has admitted the movie legend advised him to be "down to earth" before the release of ‘The Force Awakens’ to gain more supporters.
He said: "The whole cast was downstairs in a conference room, talking through what’s supposed to happen at this big event.
"She was like, ‘Just pretend you’re down to earth. People love that s**t.’
"So now I pretend I’m down to earth and you know what? People really do love that s**t. They eat it up."
‘The Last Jedi’ is slated for release this December.
